A popular freedom camping site next to the beach on the Mahia Peninsula. Self-contained and non self-contained campers can use this site for a maximum of 3 nights. There are public toilets available.
Camping is only permitted within the bollards. The rest of Oraka is a prohibited area as indicated on the Freedom Camping signage at Oraka.

Please park appropriately to share the space. A maximum of 25 vehicles will fit comfortably.
No camping is allowed in the turnaround area at the end of the Bollards, as this space is reserved for day trippers.
Oraka is the last camp area on the east coast side of Mahia.
From Oraka to the end of East Coast Road is prohibited for camping - Day Parking Only
A $400.00 fine will be issued to anyone found camping in the reserved areas and outside the bollards marked in red on signs.
