TUNANUI ROAD - MoRERE TO MAHANGA

This drive takes about 30 minutes and provides views over the Māhia Peninsula and the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the Wairoa district. Enjoy unique views from a high altitude and see the outlines of the Māhia Peninsula from a different angle. There are lots of opportunities to stop and take great photos along the way.

The 13kms between Mōrere and Mahanga Road are unsealed, narrow and windy!

DIRECTIONS

From Wairoa, head towards Gisborne on SH2. 900m past Morere Hot Springs, on the right-hand side is the turnoff to Tunanui Road.
