HEREHERETAU ROAD

The trip along Hereheretau Road is perfect for a hot summer day. Don’t forget to bring your boogie board for the rock-slide in the Makaretu Stream. This is great for outdoor adventure lovers.

DIRECTIONS

From Wairoa head towards Lake Waikaremoana on SH38.After you cross the bridge heading into Frasertown, turn right onto Mangapoike Road. Follow Mangapoike Road for about 17kms, then turn right onto Hereheretau Road. Follow Hereheretau Road for about 25kms until you reach SH2 in Whakakī.
