Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

The Rochelle Spence Dance Studio will present their own dance / drama version of the Roald Dahl story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The dancers aged 3-18yrs will perform in colourful groups of Golden Tickets, Candies, Lollipops, Blueberries, Oompa Loompas, Fizzy Pop, Squirrels, Cowgirls, Paparazzi and Chocolate River. Senior students take on the lead roles of Charlie, Grandpa Joe, Augustus, Violet, Veruca and Mike Tee-Vee with a young local actor in the role of Willy Wonka.

The 2 hour long performance is in two halves with a 20 minute interval. During the first half of the show students will perform 9 short items in classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary and jazz dance styles along with a guest artist item from Emerge Dance Company. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is performed in the 2nd half.

With a lively soundtrack, colourful costumes, interesting scenery and video projections, the show will be suited to an audience of all ages.
