Experience a rare slice of Hastings' history in the Lady's Chapel at St Matthew's. This hidden gem boasts some of the finest examples of Art Deco stained glass in the Southern Hemisphere.
Learn some of the lost arts of Art History with a short talk on the pieces by our artistic director and not-so-secret art nerd, Rosheen FitzGerald, on the exquisite glasswork of Karl Parsons, before being transported from the early 20th to the 18th century by Inégal, the Baroque quintet who play on a gale of wind and strings - Baroque recorders, oboe, oboe d’amore, viola, bassoon, spinet and cello. They take their name from the French Baroque style of playing where runs of notes are played inégal or unequal in length.
Let the music wash over you as you are bathed in beautiful coloured light in this unique experience of sound, light and learning, a perfect Sunday afternoon's diversion.
