Whale Rider Fundraiser in support of Napier's night shelter

Whale Rider Fundraiser in support of Napier

Napier’s Night Shelter Āhuru Mōwai opened in July 2025, offering a safe and warm space for some of our community’s most vulnerable.

Help support their work and join us for a very special screening of the iconic NZ film ‘Whale Rider’.

MTG Hawke’s Bay’s curator Taonga Māori Te Hira Henderson will take you deeper into the legend of Whale Rider and Whangara, the filming location. Daniel Betty will offer insights into the film’s production and the film industry in Hawke’s Bay.

We will conclude with an update on the first three months of the shelter’s operation.

Tuesday November 11, 6.30pm for 7pm start.
Tickets $40 pp.
