From the best of Hawke’s Bay produce to the most distinctive New Zealand wines, guests at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers In Perfect Pairing weekend with Chef Peter Gordon and wine guru Cameron Douglas, MS, are in for a fabulous food and wine celebration of all things local and extraordinary.
Across the weekend, guests will enjoy an intimate programme of culinary discovery. The experience begins on Friday evening with a welcome meet-and-greet over pre-dinner drinks, followed by a relaxed dinner at the lodge. On Saturday morning, Peter Gordon leads an interactive cooking class, followed by a tutored wine tasting with Cameron, before the main event on Saturday evening: a five-course tasting menu crafted by Peter, with each dish paired to perfection by Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas.
Peter Gordon is widely regarded as the pioneer of fusion food, so expect New Zealand produce paired with a generous blend of ingredients, textures, and techniques from across the world’s kitchens in his special five-course tasting menu and cooking demonstration.
Cameron Douglas is New Zealand’s first and only Master Sommelier, and he lives his life with an infectious enthusiasm for all things vino. As an experienced wine writer, commentator, reviewer, and judge, guests can rest assured that Cameron’s pairings will artfully elevate each of Peter’s fusion dishes. Cameron’s expertise reveals thrilling new ways to experience food and wine together - unexpected, inspired, and perfectly balanced.
This special weekend promises a rare opportunity to share in the craft, stories, and friendship of two masters at the peak of their fields. From Saturday’s hands-on cooking class, and the grand finale five-course dinner with wine pairings, guests will be treated to an unforgettable celebration of taste, talent, and togetherness at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers.
