Gin + Gastronomy

A Spirited Affair at Cape Kidnappers.

An afternoon of flavour, fragrance, and discovery awaits atop the awe-inspiring Cape Kidnappers clifftops.

Begin with cocktails and canapés on the lawn, overlooking the vast Hawke’s Bay coastline, before delving into the world of gin with Unlikely Companions - a local Hawke’s Bay distillery turning heads with bold botanicals like Rose + Szechuan and Sea Salt + Kelp. Craft your own bespoke gin experience alongside co-founder Alice McKinley, or discover the perfect martini with fellow co-founder Simon Swa.

As twilight falls, settle in for a three-course culinary experience led by Rosewood Cape Kidnappers’ new Executive Chef, Rudolf Segers. Having helmed the kitchens of esteemed luxury hotels including Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton in Saudi Arabia, Waldorf Astoria UAE, and Rosewood Jeddah, Chef Segers brings a wealth of international expertise, a refined approach to flavour, and a deep appreciation for New Zealand’s exceptional ingredients. Each dish is artfully matched with inventive gin cocktails curated by NZ Spirits Judge and cocktail tastemaker, Shaanah Bell — a full sensory pairing of sight, scent, taste and texture.

Conclude the evening in the Lounge with a relaxed nightcap, surrounded by the warmth and refinement of our signature hospitality.

A one-of-a-kind journey for the senses.
Limited spaces. Includes take-home gift.
