Affectionately known as Duck Day, the beloved Waipawa Spring Festival marks its 30th anniversary this year with a day of family-friendly festivities.
Join us for this iconic celebration, packed with vibrant market stalls, mouthwatering food trucks, live music, and endless entertainment.
The highlight? The legendary duck race down the Waipawa River—where crowds gather to cheer on whimsically decorated corporate entries, followed by the thrilling main event: 1,500 plastic ducks racing to the finish! (Rest assured, this is an environmentally conscious race.)
A cornerstone of the Spring Fling calendar, Duck Day is a tribute to community spirit and light-hearted joy. Bring the family, grab a snack, and help us honour 30 years of laughter, memories, and quacks!
Taniwha Daffodils is part of The Spring Fling Festival - a series of standout events through September and October, capturing the essence of springtime!
Spring Fling events span from Otane to Takapau, Tikokino to Porangahau, and offer plenty of variety for visitors to experience the very best of Central Hawke's Bay.
