Don’t miss the upcoming Lighting of Osmanthus Gardens from 12th - 18th April in Cornwall Park!
The lighting of the Osmathus Gardens in Cornwall Park is an annual event which celebrates the sister city relationship between Guilin, China, and Hastings. The tranquillity of the festival, the reflections of traditional Chinese silk lanterns in the waters, the lighting of trees, and the variation of the classical music accompaniment continue to be a Hastings icon.
This year the lantern festival is bigger and better than ever, as Hastings District celebrates their 40-year Sister City relationship with Guilin.
For seven evenings from April 12, visitors enter a magical wonderland of illuminated trees, sparkling grass, traditional Chinese silk lanterns and large lotus lanterns floating on the garden's lake.
The lanterns are lit up from 6:30pm until 9:30pm each evening for the 7 days.
