A Taste of Hawke’s Bay in a Glass – Syrah

Join us for an evening dedicated to one of Hawke’s Bay’s most exciting varieties - Syrah.

Your journey begins in the vines with Viticulturist Paul Robinson, discovering how we prune our vines, why we do it, and the role this plays in shaping the wines in your glass.

From there, step behind the scenes as we take you through the cellars, laboratory and bottling line, before joining Winemaker Alex Roper in the hall for a special barrel tasting.

The evening then moves to Cellar Door, where we’ll explore Mission Estate Syrah across the 2000s, tasting our Reserve, Jewelstone and Huchet’s wines and discovering the diversity, character and ageing potential of Syrah from Hawke’s Bay.

With a carefully considered food match accompanying the tasting, this is an opportunity to explore a variety that is increasingly defining Hawke’s Bay — and to discover just how good Syrah can be.

Expect an evening of exceptional wines, behind-the-scenes insight, great food and plenty of social discourse, whether you’re a long-time Mission fan or are yet to discover what makes Hawke’s Bay Syrah so special.
