Les Misérables

Les Misérables

Les Misérables, the epic 19th-century French tale of redemption and revolution following Jean Valjean, an ex-convict seeking a new life after 19 years of prison for stealing bread. Pursued by the relentless Inspector Javert, Valjean breaks parole, becomes a mayor, and promises to raise Cosette, the daughter of the dying Fantine. The story culminates during the 1832 Paris student uprising, where Valjean saves his adopted daughter’s lover, Marius, and finds peace.
