The Napier Technical Memorial Band is joining forces with the Napier Pipe Band for their Highland Heroes concert, which has a touch of Remembrance as we approach Armistice Day.
The Salvation Army Citadel, Tait Drive, Greenmeadows will resound with the symphonic sounds of brass, woodwind and percussion alongside the distinctive sounds of bagpipes and drums. Each band will showcase their own music before joining together to play such pieces as Highland Cathedral and Scotland the Brave.
Also performing will be the Napier Tech Junior Band, comprising of students from local primary, intermediate and high schools. This concert features the growing trumpet section in Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Sousa Sounds, before they join the adults in a rousing rendition of Amazing Grace.
Tickets are $15 on the door for adults, gold coin donation for children and EFTPOS is available.
Napier Tech Band and the Junior Band are always keen to welcome new brass, woodwind and percussion players. If you are interested in joining us, email tcuthbert@napiercentral.school.nz or go to our website https://www.napiertechband.org/ to see some of our recent concerts and to find out more about both bands.
