Festival Opera, in association with The Dame Malvina Major Foundation, Present - Sharing the Dream. A gala concert to celebrate Dame Malvina Major - her life, her art and her commitment to the next generation of artists.
Join us for a gala concert of operatic highlights celebrating the unique career and work of Dame Malvina. A sparkling evening, featuring some of Aotearoa’s finest opera singers including Amitai Pati and Moses Mackay of Sol3 Mio fame, joined by special guests, all of whom have been mentored and supported by Dame Malvina and her Foundation.
Together with a full symphonic orchestra and Master of Ceremonies - the celebrated Opera Stage Director John Wilkie, we explore the highlights of Dame Malvina’s journey - from her early days studying and performing in Europe through to her dazzling International success following a period in New Zealand raising her family.
A talented and dedicated diva whose approach to her career was ahead of its time, this performance will honour Dame Malvina for her lifetime of service to the artform of opera, not just on the stage, but for her tireless efforts to ensure the successful development of young musicians and singers.
Profits from this not-to-be-missed concert will be donated to the Dame Malvina Major Foundation.
