The reopening of SH2 between Wairoa and Napier has also meant the reinstatement of the Intercity bus service.
The Gisborne-Napier service started again this week.
This service will operate Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday to connect with IC 6364 (Wellington – Napier) and IC 6367 (Napier – Wellington).
The timetables have been amended slightly.
The bus from Gisborne will arrive in Wairoa at 10.35am and depart for Napier at 10.50am arriving at 1pm.
The bus from Napier will arrive in Wairoa at 4pm, depart at 4.10pm and arrive in Gisborne at 5.45pm.
The local Intercity bus stop is outside the Wairoa I-Site on Paul Street. For bookings call into the i-Site or phone 06 838 7440.
